I'm not very good at writing about myself.

which is funny, considering how much time i've spent helping brands figure out what to say about themselves.

anyway, here are a few things you should know about me.

i ask a lot of questions.

Sometimes they're about brand positioning. Sometimes they're about why a company has seven different ways of describing the same product. Usually, one question leads to another. I like understanding what I'm working with before deciding what to make.

i like making things.

Brand identities, presentations, websites, illustrations. Occasionally furniture. I enjoy the thinking that goes into a project, but I also genuinely like sitting down and doing the work.

i don't think every problem needs a big solution.

Sometimes it needs a new direction. Sometimes it needs someone to organize what's already there. And sometimes it just needs a designer who can make the thing look and work better.

i've been on both sides of the brief.

I've led creative projects, worked with stakeholders, managed designers, and spent plenty of time being the person in Figma figuring out how to make an idea real. I'm comfortable taking ownership, and equally comfortable contributing to someone else's vision.

i'm curious about people.

What they notice. What they ignore. Why something feels trustworthy, confusing, exciting, or completely forgettable. That curiosity is a big part of why I love branding.

and when i'm not designing?

I'm probably working on something around the house, learning something new, playing a game, or negotiating with a very demanding dog.

a little note about ai...

the design work presented in this portfolio was developed without generative ai. i wanted to show how i think, explore ideas, and make creative decisions on my own. while i do use ai in my day-to-day work, you're here to see what i can do, not what claude can do, right?

anyway, that's me.

If you think we'd work well together, I'd love to hear what you're working on.
